The latest Martell XXO Cognac Chanteloup – a collection of over 450 eaux-de-vie

One of the big four cognac houses continues to prove that there are still many avenues to explore in the labyrinthine world of cognac, thanks to the release of Cognac Martell Chanteloup XXO. Containing 450 eaux-de-vie harmoniously woven together thanks to centuries-old know-how, it is the ultimate expression of Martell’s blending prowess. The youngest of the blend is 14 years old, and it comes from a selection of the best crus in the Cognac region: Borderies, Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Fins Bois. While the new age category “Extra Extra Old” has been talking about her for a year, they have unveiled their latest expression. Still curious about the XXO Cognac category? We’ve taken the time to demystify this burgeoning age appellation . Unveiled by Pernod Ricard at the Petit Palais in Paris, in collaboration with Martell cellar master Christophe Valtaud, Martell Chanteloup cognac marks an emblematic moment in the history of cognac – three centuries after the founding of one of the oldest cognac houses, in 1715. Martell celebrated the release of the latest Chanteloup XXO Cognac with a lavish party in the gardens of the Petit Palais, where guests were able to sample various Martell-based cocktails, then head inside for a five-course meal prepared by the three-star Michelin chef, Guy Savoy. Each of the dishes was prepared with a touch of different Martell cognacs. You can watch the highlights of the evening here .

The carafe is an intricately designed work of art. Similar in shape to the Martell XO, it has a beautiful boomerang-shaped curvature that will make it the centerpiece of any collection. The bottle is designed with a series of twisted silver ornaments and a matching silver cap. The finishing touch is a white leather-look cuff around the neck of the bottle. The decanter has also launched alongside a bespoke chest, which can be made to order and comes with an engraved plaque. It’s the definition of luxury – we recommend you read more on our blog . 

How to take advantage of this Martell XXO

With such a distinctive blend of so many eaux-de-vie, this Cognac should be enjoyed in a good atmosphere, cared for, at room temperature and enjoyed contemplatively. Leave it for a few minutes to open in the goblet. Then, try it over ice to see how this unique mosaic of flavors and aromas develops.
